HEALTH SERVICES

Let your caregiver skills flourish in our community. We have Full Time and Part Time positions available and various shifts around the clock.

Director of Assisted Living/Memory Care

Responsible for the leadership and management of health services provided to residents living in the Personal Care and Memory Care areas

Clinical

  • Acts as mentor, coach and role model for personal care staff in the delivery of quality care to the residents

  • As a member of the Casa Assessment Team, completes level of care assessments on all residents, and assigns and assures accurate completion of routine resident assessments

  • Initiates resident care planning and ongoing individual resident teaching regarding their health status

  • Provides resident direct care as necessary

  • Performs rounds on a regular basis to ensure resident needs are met 

Leadership

  • Present an image in attitude, attire, and interactions that creates a favorable impression about Casa Dorinda.

  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to refine skills and knowledge related to job/career

  • Complete employment-related tasks such as HR paperwork, training requirements, etc. in a timely fashion

  • Provides support and resources to staff to enhance their ability to deliver resident care

  • Maintains knowledge of current state and federal rules and regulations for Residential Care facility licensure and ensures compliance

  • Attends and participates in appropriate leadership and operational meetings

  • Participates in the development of mission statements, goals and long range plans

  • Identifies and initiates projects and tasks required to support resident service outcomes

  • Provides for human and material resources to ensure excellent service

  • Recommends new services to meet resident needs

  • Consistently assesses and improves the quality of care and services provided, demonstrates knowledge of QI through application of principles, communicates QI information to staff and actively supports the facility QI goals

  • Is available and accessible to nursing staff on all shifts

  • Commits to maintaining a safe workplace through appropriate safety training, incident investigation and follow-up

  • Be familiar with fire, disaster, evacuation and accident prevention programs so as to lead appropriately during emergency situations

 Management

  • Establishes and updates operating policies and procedures for the delivery of health services in residential care

  • Develops an annual budget for assisted living

  • Ensures the availability of supplies and equipment necessary to provide resident care

  • Ensures that infection control standards are maintained

  • Manages risk for assisted living including coordinating with Human Resources and the Risk Manager for compliance and liability avoidance

  • Follows established procedures for hiring and orienting department employees

  • Develops monthly work schedules to ensure staff provide quality care

  • Ensures adequate staff levels are maintained and reviews weekly staffing reports to determine efficient use of staff resources

  • Evaluates individual staff performance, conducts annual performance evaluations and counsels employees as needed to improve job performance

  • Works with Director of Education to determine staff educational needs

  • Counsels staff, residents and families as need arises

  • Makes daily assignments and ensures completion of duties in an efficient and timely manner

  • Monitors health record documentation for quality, accuracy and completeness

  • Monitors nursing staff for compliance with established safety procedures

  • Evaluates employee injuries, completes necessary paperwork for reporting and coordinates with PCU Safety representative

 Communication

  • Remains informed of ongoing Casa Dorinda events

  • Holds regular department staff meetings, encouraging open communication

  • Actively keeps the lines of communication open with residents’ families

  • Ensures that a daily report on resident health changes is delivered to the Senior Director of Health Services

  • Communicates with all appropriate stakeholders regarding level of care decisions for residents

  • Maintains confidentiality in all communications regarding resident and organizational information

 Professional Development

  • Participates in opportunities for professional development, including professional seminars

  • Remains current with clinical and management literature

  • Networks with peers within the organization and in the community at large

  • Performs all other related tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor

Minimum Education required: Must have current license to practice as a registered nurse in California

Minimum Experience required: Experience in long term care

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated skills in leadership and management, verbal and written communication, analysis and problem solving

  • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office, EHR and online systems)

Director of Staff Development

Director of Staff Development duties include assisting in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating orientation and in-service training programs in accordance with State and Federal guidelines.

  • Must have a current R.N. license in the State of California

  • Able to lift fifty lbs. on a regular basis

  • Must have a working knowledge of State and Federal Long-Term Care Regulations

Nurses (RN & LVN) - Assisted Living; 11pm-7am

Coordinates and supervises total resident health care activities, provides professional assessment and intervention; functions as the key individual in assuring the delivery of quality health care for each resident

  • Must possess a current California License with at least one year of experience providing direct patient care

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Medical Center; 3pm-11pm

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - All Areas; Per Diem shifts available

Under the direction of a licensed nurse, monitors resident health status and assists in activities of daily living with the purpose of maintaining the highest level of independent function

  • Current California Nursing Assistant Certificate

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills in English


HOUSEKEEPING

Housemen; Full Time

General cleaning of community common areas and special projects

  • High school graduate or GED

  • 2 years housekeeping experience in residential community or hospitality setting

  • Previous experience working in independent, assisted living, skilled nursing or residential home for elderly preferred

  • Must be able to speak and understand conversational English


DINING SERVICES

Entry Level Prep Cook; Full Time

Prepares all food on menu for residents and their guests, including special diets, special dinners and holiday and special events, as well as menu for employee grill and employee events

  • HS Diploma or GED

  • 2 years’ experience as a Cook in an institutional setting

  • Basic cooking skills

  • Knowledge of sanitation and food safety

  • Must understand, write and speak English fluently

  • Must know how to use all kitchen equipment

  • Previous Experience with Therapeutic Diets is a plus.

  • Must be Available to Work Nights, Weekends and Holidays

Server; Part Time

Prepare dining room for meal service, serve meals to residents, attending to their needs throughout the meal (weeknights)

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English

Kitchen Cleaner; Full Time

General cleaning of all areas of our Dining Services.

  • H.S. diploma or GED preferred

  • Must be able to speak and understand conversational English

     


LIFE ENRICHMENT

Driver (Part-time, On-Call Weekends and Evenings)

Provides transportation for residents in Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing, in accordance with established Casa
Dorinda policies and procedures, and governmental regulations. Assists the Life Enrichment Director in the development and implementation of a quality experience, as it relates to programs that include transportation; such as special outings and daily shopping, and additional events as planned and appropriate. Also contributes to our Casa Commuter Shuttle program

  • California State Class B driver’s license (with passenger (P) endorsement) required

  • Must participate in the DOT random drug and alcohol check program

  • DMV Pull Notice check annually with no serious violations recorded

Life Enrichment Assistant - Medical Center; Full Time

Assist the Life Enrichment Program Leader-MC in the development and implementation of a quality therapeutic activity program for each resident in the Medical Center, pertaining to the Seven Dimensions of Wellness

  • Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required: High school graduate or GED

  • Minimum Experience required: 2 years’ experience with elderly population

  • Activity Director Certificate desired or equivalent training & experience

  • Able to speak , read and write English and possess effective verbal and written communications skills;

  • aptitude for detail and ability to follow instructions;

  • working knowledge of Title 22 regulations;

  • Computer skills including Excel, Word and Outlook


PLANT OPERATIONS

Painter - Full Time

Performs variety of painting and coating duties and related tasks

  • High school graduate or GED

  • Experience in surface preparation, repair, finishing and painting of interior and exterior surfaces, knowledge of proper and safe use of hand and power tools

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English and be able to understand and follow oral and written directions in English

  • Must have current California driver’s license
