THE MONTECITO RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION (MRA)
OUR MISSION
The Mission of the Montecito Retirement Association (MRA) is to operate at Casa Dorinda a life care program with a commitment to excellence in the quantity and quality of its services. This is so that its residents may continue to live their lives with dignity, security and as independently and fully as they are able.
ABOUT THE BOARD
As a stand-alone 501(c)3 non-profit, Casa Dorinda is run by the MRA. Composed of successful business and industry leaders, the members of the Board serve voluntarily and with no compensation. The Directors, are not residents of Casa Dorinda (with the exception of one resident member), but live in the Santa Barbara and Montecito communities and are qualified to serve on the Board because of their personal commitment to the success of Casa Dorinda and their own individual qualifications and experience. Each Director is elected to a three-year term and is eligible for re-election to the Board of Directors for a second three-year term. Each Director is nominated and elected to the Board by the present members of the Board. The MRA Board of Directors is responsible for the policies and management of Casa Dorinda. They employ an Executive Director who in turn employs a staff to provide services to the residents of Casa Dorinda in accordance with the LifeCare and Services Plan Agreement. The residents of Casa Dorinda elect their own Resident Council, which is an advisory body to the Administration and the Montecito Retirement Association's Board of Directors. Casa Dorinda's board members devote their time and special expertise to keep Casa Dorinda financially strong and the quality home residents have come to expect and appreciate.
