Assistant Director of Nursing/Director of Staff Development

Responsible to assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, developing and directing the day-to-day functions of the Medical Center Nursing Services in accordance with federal, state and local standards, guidelines and the regulations that govern the Medical Center to ensure that the highest quality of care is maintained at all times 

Director of Staff Development duties include assisting in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating orientation and in-service training programs in accordance with State and Federal guidelines

  • Must have a current R.N. license in the State of California

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in providing direct resident care

  • Capable of making sound professional judgement within the scope of RN practice

  • Possess physical and emotional health to work the scheduled hours

  • Must project genuine concern for the geriatric resident

  • Able to lift fifty lbs. on a regular basis

  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel

  • Must have a working knowledge of State and Federal Long-Term Care Regulations

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Per Diem shifts available

Under the direction of a licensed nurse, monitors resident health status and assists in activities of daily living with the purpose of maintaining the highest level of independent function

  • Current California Nursing Assistant Certificate

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills in English


Housemen; Full Time

General cleaning of community common areas and special projects

  • High school graduate or GED

  • 2 years housekeeping experience in residential community or hospitality setting

  • Previous experience working in independent, assisted living, skilled nursing or residential home for elderly preferred

  • Must be able to speak and understand conversational English


Junior Sous Chef; Full Time

The Junior Sous Chef will support the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef with daily production of continually changing menus and help redefine the retirement community dining experience 

There is unlimited opportunity to create fun and interesting menus and a chance to showcase her/his passion for food.  

The ideal candidate will have experience in all areas of food preparation and continually innovate creative and interesting ideas for kitchen operations and food preparation.

The chosen candidate will also get to participate in the creation of our brand new bar & grill (slated to open mid-2020), help establish the new employee café and new Personal Care Kitchen, as well as have input on the remodel of our main kitchen.


  • 4 years of line cook experience 

  • Must possess advanced culinary skills and complete knowledge of all kitchen equipment and tools

  • Must exhibit the desire to learn and teach

  • Knowledge of all applicable safety and sanitation practices

  • Must be able to delegate and multi-task 

  • Strong communication skills; written & verbal

  • Must have the ability to utilize emotional intelligence in all communications and exhibit a professionalism and leadership that influences others positively

  • Basic computer skills to include food ordering software use, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.

  • Understanding of ordering, inventory control and maintaining proper par levels


  • Graduate of Culinary School or equivalent program

  • Catering and event experience

  • Bilingual English/Spanish

  • Serve Safe Certified

  • Experience in a modern food restaurant or fine dining restaurant

Line Cook; Full Time

Prepares all food on menu for residents and their guests, including special diets, special dinners and holiday and special events, as well as menu for employee grill and employee events

  • HS Diploma or GED

  • 2 years’ experience as a Cook in an institutional setting

  • Basic cooking skills

  • Knowledge of sanitation and food safety

  • Must understand, write and speak English fluently

  • Must know how to use all kitchen equipment

  • Previous Experience with Therapeutic Diets is a plus.

  • Must be Available to Work Nights, Weekends and Holidays

Server; Part Time

Prepare dining room for meal service, serve meals to residents, attending to their needs throughout the meal (weeknights)

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English

Kitchen Cleaner; Full Time

General cleaning of all areas of our Dining Services.

  • H.S. diploma or GED preferred

  • Must be able to speak and understand conversational English



Driver (Part-time, On-Call Weekends and Evenings)

Provides transportation for residents in Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing, in accordance with established Casa
Dorinda policies and procedures, and governmental regulations. Assists the Life Enrichment Director in the development and implementation of a quality experience, as it relates to programs that include transportation; such as special outings and daily shopping, and additional events as planned and appropriate. Also contributes to our Casa Commuter Shuttle program

  • California State Class B driver’s license (with passenger (P) endorsement) required

  • Must participate in the DOT random drug and alcohol check program

  • DMV Pull Notice check annually with no serious violations recorded


Painter - 2 Full Time

Performs variety of painting and coating duties and related tasks

  • High school graduate or GED

  • Experience in surface preparation, repair, finishing and painting of interior and exterior surfaces, knowledge of proper and safe use of hand and power tools

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English and be able to understand and follow oral and written directions in English

  • Must have current California driver’s license
