Philanthropy at Casa
What we do for others lives on
History of Philanthropy
Casa Dorinda was established as a non-profit community in 1983 by the Montecito Retirement Association’s Board of Directors. Because of Casa’s tax exempt status, there have been many successful philanthropic endeavors that have significantly enhanced our campus and the lives of our residents. In the 1990’s a group of Casa residents and the MRA Board successfully raised over $9 million dollars to construct the Medical Center that stands today.
In 2016, a similar resident-led fundraising initiative was launched, called the Legacy Campaign, to create the new Center for Personal and Memory Care. More than $9 million has been raised for this campaign and residents continue to support this project which is currently being constructed and anticipated to be complete in 2020.
Our Philanthropic Mission
Our philanthropic mission is to enhance the quality of life for residents, improve our campus, bolster our financial strength, and support our employees. Residents are passionate about their home and the Casa Dorinda family. We are grateful for the partnership we have with our residents who invest their time, talent, and resources, making our community a place unlike any other in the nation!
