ST. PATRICK’S DAY BRUNCH AT CASA

Sunday, March 17 - 11:00am to 1:30pm - Dining Room. Get ready for some great fun, and make sure to wear your favorite green ensemble, as we celebrate "The Luck of the Irish" with a special Irish Sunday Brunch, including live Irish musical entertainment by the Willie Quinn Ensemble. NEW 10-WEEK MAH-JONGG CLASS

Tuesdays, March 26-May 28 - Bliss Room
Beginners/Intermediates: 10:00am to 12:00pm
Advanced: 1:00pm - 3:00pm.
Keep your mind nimble and your hands moving while you have a great time with your Casa friends! Come learn to play the popular tile game, or if you’re already a player, improve your skills! Judi Amsel, an experienced Mah-Jongg teacher, will lead this course. Cost for this class is $65, to be billed; please sign up in the Mail Room. 

ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION PRESENTATION: “BRAIN HEALTH”

Wednesday, March 27 - 11:00am - Auditorium. Please join us for a presentation by Rebecca Edelmayer, Ph.D., Director, Scientific Engagement, Alzheimer's Association, and learn about Lifestyle Intervention for Dementia Risk Reduction and other research advances. Special guest speakers include Katina Etsell (MRA Board Director) and Rhonda Spiegel (CEO - Alzheimer's Association). Q & A to follow the presentation. Due to the popularity of this event, and to ensure we have an accurate count of how many guests we can expect, please sign up in the Mail Room.

2019 SPRING BOCCE LEAGUE BEGINS

Mondays and Tuesdays, beginning March 18 at 3:00 & 4:00pm on the Bocce Court. Same 3-game format as last year - two games to six points and a tie-breaker third game (if necessary) to five points. Playoff and Championship matches will be played on May 20 & 21. Your Captains will distribute Team Schedules. If you want to share in the fun but have not signed up yet, please do so in the Mail Room. No prior experience necessary. If you can fog a mirror, you can play Bocce. We will place you on a team and help with coaching sessions to learn the fundamentals.

Friday, March 22 - 5:00 to 6:30pm - Dining Room Lobby. Come and meet our talented artist and Casa resident, Lou Mayer, and enjoy some wine and hors d'oeuvres while viewing her impressive art exhibit in the Dining Room Lobby. 

CAFÉ DES ARTISTES: “THE ART OF DEVOTION - HINDU, JAIN & BUDDHIST ART”

Tuesday, March 26 - 4:00 to 5:30pm - Auditorium. Please join us for a presentation by Shirley Waxman, member of the Community Speakers Program of the SBMA. This talk examines devotional objects from the three major ancient religions of South Asia: Buddhism, Hinduism and Jain. Covering over two thousand years of images from India, China, Japan and Tibet, it celebrates and illuminates the complex relationship between devotional practice and religious imagery created to meet spiritual needs. Seating is limited; please sign up in the Mail Room by March 21. 

MYSTERY DINNER AT CASA

Thursday, March 28 - 6:00pm - Dining Room. The Mystery Dinner is back, so save the date! The first 50 lucky people who sign up in the Mail Room will have a fun dinner, meeting new residents, and perhaps getting to know others better. You will draw a table number when you check in at 6:00 pm, and the mystery is who sits with you at your table. This event is limited to 50 people and 10 hosts. Please Note: the sign-up sheet has been filled; a waitlist is available in the Mail Room.
