NELSON HOWARD RESIDENT LECTURE:
”TALES OF A MOVIE PRODUCER”
Thursday, January 10 - 4:30pm - Auditorium. Everyone loves the movies, but how many people actually have produced them? Our very own Casa resident Michael Deeley has, and even won, an Oscar for one of his! The producer of over 30 films, Michael has stories to tell! Dona McCauley, a movie aficionado, will be the moderator of our very own ‘Inside the Actor’s Studio’ and interview Michael to find out just what in the world a producer does? What was it like to receive an Oscar for best picture (The Deer Hunter) from John Wayne? And, going behind the curtain, what was it really like to work with Michael Caine, Robert De Niro, Harrison Ford, and Meryl Streep? Bring your questions! In January, Casa will be showing three of Michael’s most popular movies on KASA -TV Channel 1960: The Italian Job, The Deer Hunter, and Blade Runner. Reception to follow in the Music Room and, for dinner January 10, Chef Michael will use his creative talent to offer a menu item that is paired with one of Michael’s films.
Please also let us know if you have suggestions of topics or residents for future lectures. The life-stories and passions of Casa residents are a true adventure and fascinating!
