Since moving to Santa Barbara in 2015 with his wonderful wife Cristina, Barkley has become a solo act, and he has put together a program of classic Broadway tunes with an emphasis on Rodgers and Hammerstein and Cole Porter. Please join us to enjoy “Barkley on Broadway.”

Monday, August 5 - 2:00pm - Auditorium. Introductory class is complimentary. Recently, National Ballroom Dance Champions, Diane Meehan and Vasily Golowin, and students from their studio, performed for the Entertainment Committee’s Ballroom Blitz performance at Casa Dorinda. From this evening, the enthusiasm was overwhelmingly positive to have them return to give Casa residents exclusive classes where they would teach the basics of ballroom and Latin dance; including, dance movements, steps, timing and technique of ballroom dance. Did you know: Dance reduces the chances of Alzheimer's Disease by 75%, increases happiness and memory, builds core strength, endurance, balance, and improves posture in a fun group setting? No partner needed, no experience necessary, wear comfortable clothes, non-rubber soled shoes and a smile! Once you have watched this demonstration, you will have an opportunity to sign up for a 4-week group class, starting August 12. If you would like to attend the August 5 Complimentary Dance Class, please sign up in the Mail Room, and we will send you a reminder notice.
