We will be led by soprano Nichole Dechaine with a professional accompanist on piano. The emphasis will be on fun and the desire to sing more proficiently together with good leadership. Regan Presidential Foundation & Library Special Exhibit "Titanic"

This brand-new 10,000 square foot exhibition, reuniting hundreds of Titanic artifacts that have not been together since the ship's fateful night in 1912, is a first of its kind exhibition not seen anywhere else before. Fuz Hume, Casa's Wine Club Chairman, has arranged an exclusive food and wine pairing dinner for Casa residents only. Casa Dining Services Director Scott Schonzeit and Chef Michael are working with winery owner and winemaker, Peter Stolpman, in creating a fantastic evening of tasting unique wines, paired with dishes created by Chef Michael. During the course of the evening, Peter will share stories and specific details about each wine, while Scott will share the ways in which the flavor profile of each wine works with each dish. CASA Health Lecture Series: New Frontiers in Brain Exploration

Join four highly distinguished faculty members from UC Santa Barbara for a fascinating journey into scientific research currently being conducted on our campus. To kick off the lecture, Assistant Professor Emily Jacobs will highlight recent work investigating memory changes that occur early in the aging process of menopause. This is a fantastic look at how women's brains are highly functional as they age, contrary to media's portrayal of mature women. Assistant Professor Michael Goard will lecture on the use of laser microscopes to investigate brain activity in mice. He hopes to understand how mice remember new information, and to develop new approaches for improving memory and learning. We will dive into the world of dosing and delivering drugs with Professor of Chemistry Kevin Plaxco, who asks "why does a woman weighing 130 pounds receive the same drug dosage as a man weighing 190 pounds?" Finally Professor Scott Grafton helps us explore the question of what happens to us when we hit our heads, and the answer that the brain has a great capacity to recover from injury and includes techniques to examine the brain's hidden mysteries.
