There have been recent examples of residents and guests failing to follow the Dress Code for Monday through Saturday dinners and the Sunday Brunch. To refresh your memory, the Dress Code is found on page 30 of the Resident Handbook in the Black Book. We appreciate your support in following this guidance.

Everyone is welcome to join us on Thursdays at 10:30 am in the Personal Care Activity Room for a fun music program with toddlers. Since 1997, Kindermusik has been serving hundreds of families and children of all ages for 17 years, and has been recognized locally and internationally as one of the best music programs for young children in the Santa Barbara area! The program has taken its supreme curriculum a step further by bringing its magical musical classroom into Senior Care Centers in this area. This is a chance to enjoy and interact with these children in a unique, multi-generational class where the program’s educators foster a valuable musical learning experience while building personal relationships. Emphasizing the inclusion of singing, movement, instrument playing and improvisation, Kindermusik fosters all aspects of a child’s development while developing a natural sense of musical appreciation and capability. Everyone is welcome to join this class; space is limited, so please sign up in the Mail Room. For more information, you may call John Patel at # 8045.

In order to keep this project working smoothly, we are calling on more residents to sign up now to HOST the many dinner guests who enjoy this dining opportunity. It requires only a one-night commitment, a Thursday or Saturday evening and is a great way to meet some of our newest Casa residents. You can set place cards around and welcome all to a night of friendly conversation. Guests are to bring their own wine, if desired. Will you be the first to answer the call? Just sign your name on a date of your choice in the Dining Lobby’s Notebook. I hope many of you will respond to this request. Thank you so much! See you at the OPEN TABLE soon. – Pat Moylan, #8131

The first of three has been unveiled in the Activities Center's Art Gallery. This project was created by Casa's Activities staff and implemented by residents from the Independent Living, Personal Care and the Medical Center. Each was given a twelve-inch square panel to paint within the lines, and in any colors chosen. Our first is of Le Psce del Atun, originally painted by Spanish artist Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida (1863-1923). An image of Sorolla's painting is on display next to Casa's interpretation. Later this year, we will rotate the murals; so please watch for the unveiling of mural number two!

There is a suggestion box located in the Mail Room to facilitate forwarding any suggestions, comments, or questions to the Resident's Association. All signed comment cards will be given consideration by the Council and there will be a written reply as to any disposition. – Bob Short, President Resident's Association.

We hope you enjoyed our recent “Chopsticks” display by Casa resident Ingrid Hanzer. Our new display for March will exhibit Mason’s pottery items on loan by Bob Yamin. A little write-up about the history of Mason’s is located next to it on the wall. Also, we would like to take this opportunity and thank all our past and future participants in this monthly display for sharing their precious and interesting collections with the Casa community.
