MINDFULNESS & STRESS REDUCTION
Wednesdays - 10:30 am - Education Center. Modern science is clear. Stress interferes with our physical and mental health. Please join us on Wednesdays at Mindfulness & Stress reduction to explore the many things we can do to reduce stress and live happier, healthier lives. This month, our theme is Positive Psychology. We will have a short talk by an authority, followed by time for discussion, then mindfulness meditation.

Music Academy artists Natasha Kislenko will provide expert coaching to a selection of the Academy’s exceptionally gifted instrumental Fellows, offering a fascinating glimpse into the creative process of classical musicians. The Master Class is brought to you by fellow resident Mary Jean Thomson in memory of her late husband Walter.

Friday, July 28 - 4:00 pm - PC Activity Room. Please come and support our wonderful staff members at an art reception in Personal Care. This exhibition is of creative art from employees who work in many areas of Casa Dorinda, i.e. Medical Center, Personal Care, Dining Services, Housekeeping, Security, and Activities. Everyone is encouraged to attend, to enjoy speaking with the artists, listening to live music, and a libation from the full bar. – The Visual Arts Committee.

Because the recent U.S. decision to step away from the 2015 Paris Climate Change Accord has caused so much interest, we have decided to have a special talk by Tony Mills entitled “What we should have learned from the 2015 Paris Accord.” Please plan to attend this special event of current national interest. There will be a reception in the Music Room following the talk.

IN THE SHADOW OF THE MOON FILM WITH SAM FORDYCE
Thursday, July 20 - 4:30 pm - Auditorium. The 49th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing will be on Thursday, July 20. Sam Fordyce (ex-NASA engineer) will show a film produced by Ron Howard entitled In The Shadow of the Moon. Refreshments will be served.
