MINDFULNESS & STRESS REDUCTION

Wednesdays - 10:30 am - Education Center. Modern science is clear. Stress interferes with our physical and mental health. Please join us on Wednesdays at Mindfulness & Stress reduction to explore the many things we can do to reduce stress and live happier, healthier lives. This month, our theme is Positive Psychology. We will have a short talk by an authority, followed by time for discussion, then mindfulness meditation.

PAPER STAR ORNAMENT WORKSHOP

Every Monday, August 14, 21, 28, September 11, 18, 25 at 1:30 pm - Craft Studio. Join Chialee to make beautiful Paper Star Ornaments for Casa's 2017 Christmas tree. This year's theme is stars of all kinds. No experience necessary; sign up in the Mail Room.

CABARET MOVIE NIGHT

Wednesday, August 30 - 7:30 pm - PC Activity Room. Join your friends at Personal Care for a fun Movie Night, featuring the musical film Cabaret. Directed by Bob Fosse, and starring Liza Minnelli, Michael York and Joel Grey. The film explores the burlesque world. Winner of eight Academy Awards. Musical/Drama - 1972 - PG - 2 hours 4 minutes.

NEW TECH CLASSES WITH DORY TURK

iPhone Basics: Wednesdays September 6, 13, 20 & 27 from 9:00 to 10:15 am. Get the most out of your iPhone and really use your phone with all it has to offer. We will go over texting, the camera, photos and more. This is a fun class that moves at a nice even pace. 

Kindle App on iPad: Wednesdays, September 6, 13, & 20 from 10:30 to 11:45 am. A great alternative to the Kindle device. The Kindle App on the iPad is a beautiful way to read books, magazines and more. We will go over all the amazing features the Kindle App has to offer and learn how to download books, magazines and movies from the Library.

Cost per iPhone Basics is: $60 for four sessions; Kindle App on iPad is: $45 for three sessions, to be billed. All classes are held in the Craft Studio. Please sign up in the Mail Room.

NEW SIX-WEEK MASK MAKING CLASS WITH ARTIST & MASK MAKER ANN CHEVREFILS

Beginning Thursday, August 17 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm Ceramic Studio. Join us for a fun Papier-mâché and clay mask-making class with Ann Chevrefils, whose vast experience includes masks for theater and festivals. Ann will teach us how to make light-weight, papier-mâché masks, which can be worn or used as a wall hanging as part of a Visual Arts mask exhibition. Cost for this six-week class is $80, to be billed, and includes all materials. Class size is limited, sign up in the Mail Room TODAY!
