Monday, Oct. 9 - 11:00 am - Meet in Great Hall. Casa resident Nancy Spivey is leading a half-hour walking tour, which may help new and current residents to familiarize themselves with Casa buildings and grounds. The optional lunch following the tour is an opportunity to meet fellow residents.

Beginner/Intermediate - 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Intermediate/Advanced - 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Keep your mind nimble and your hands moving while you have a great time with your Casa friends! Come learn to play the popular tile game, or if you’re already a player, improve your skills! Judi Amsel, an experienced Mah-Jongg teacher, will lead eight weekly sessions, beginning October 24. Cost for eight sessions is $50, to be billed. The sign-up sheet is in the Mail Room.
RUBBERBLOCK PRINTMAKING - CHRISTMAS & HANUKKAH CARD CLASS
Friday, Nov. 3 - 1:30 to 3:00 pm - Painting Studio. Join artist printmaker Loren Kantor, who will teach us to carve images on 4” x 6” rubber blocks with simple illustrated designs. Once the rubber block image is carved, it becomes a rubber stamp. We will then learn how to ink and press the stamp to make prints on greeting card stock with envelopes so they can be mailed to family and friends. Tuesday, Oct. 10 - 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 to 4:00 pm - Painting Studio. Our next Annual Casa Dorinda Holiday Bazaar, to be held on November 7 & 8, will be here in no time! In preparation, Denyse Hurley is offering a special card-making workshop, and the committee would love your help in making individual cards and sets for sale. Whether you are a “regular” attendee or new to Denyse’s workshops, everyone is invited to come and get creative for a day! Stunning materials are provided; however, if you’d like to contribute something special from your own supplies, you are welcome to bring those items to the workshop. Come give it a try and explore the possibilities!

Wednesdays, Oct. 11 & 25 - 10:30 am - Education Center. This easy-to-learn skill enables us to have more insight, self acceptance, and self-control. We can reduce tension, feel calmer and more optimistic. And, when combined with the emerging findings from positive psychology, we can choose to act in the most healthy and fulfilling ways. Come acquire something that feels good and has enormous benefit. These classes are presented at no charge.
